Disconnected systems created operational complexity across a global organization.
As the Church of the Nazarene continued to grow, so did the complexity of the systems and processes supporting its global operations.
Departments across the organization relied on spreadsheets, paper forms, legacy databases, and disconnected software systems to manage critical workflows ranging from missionary onboarding and scholarship applications to translation projects and event coordination.
Many processes required employees to manually enter the same information into multiple systems, creating inefficiencies, slowing down operations, and making it difficult to maintain visibility across departments. Some teams were still operating entirely through paper-based processes, while others depended on aging systems that had become increasingly difficult to maintain. One department even relied on a standalone Microsoft Access database that required its own dedicated server environment.
The organization needed more than a workflow automation tool. It needed a flexible platform that could modernize processes while also connecting systems and streamlining how information moved throughout the organization
