We're proud to share that Decisions has been named a Niche Player nearing the Leaders quadrant in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Service Orchestration and Automation Platforms (SOAP) for the first time in this research.
For a company built around the idea of universal orchestration this recognition is significant. It confirms something we've believed for a while: the boundary between "IT orchestration" and "business orchestration" is dissolving, and the platforms that can operate across both sides of that line are the ones enterprises need.
Also Recognized in the Critical Capabilities for Service Orchestration and Automation Platforms
Alongside the Magic Quadrant, Gartner also published its companion Critical Capabilities for Service Orchestration and Automation Platforms research, which scores each vendor's offering against 12 specific capabilities across five use cases.
The Future of SOAP
“Gartner defines service orchestration and automation platforms as solutions that encompass the capabilities required to integrate, coordinate, and manage complex workflows and processes across IT. These platforms empower infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders to design and implement end-to-end workflows by unifying workload automation, resource provisioning, and data pipelines across hybrid digital infrastructures.” But the report's own strategic planning assumptions point to where the category is heading:
- “By 2029, 90% of organizations currently delivering workload automation will use SOAPs to orchestrate workloads and data pipelines across both IT and business domains.”
- “By 2030, 50% of SOAP activity will be initiated by AI agents, up from less than 5% in 2026.”
That second data point is the one we think about most. As AI agents move from experimentation into production, the platforms that can govern them, not just deploy them, are the ones that will matter.
Outlook for Growth
Being included in this research for the first time, in a year when the market is being reshaped by agentic AI, positions Decisions to grow alongside a category that is actively redefining what orchestration means.
